The Alberta Water Council incorporated to become a not-for-profit society in November 2007. The Bylaws are filed with Corporate Registry and outline the general operation of the Alberta Water Council. Prior to November 2007 the AWC existed as a Minister's committee and reported directly to the Minister of Environment.
The Alberta Water Council operates according to a set of Process Guidelines, which were renewed and approved in October 2015. They describe the roles, responsibilities and operation of the Council and its consensus processes. The Process Guidelines are a companion to our Bylaws.
